Buyer personas are semi-fictional representations of your ideal customers based on data and research. They help you focus your time on qualified prospects, guide product development to suit the needs of your target customers, and align all work across your organization (from marketing to sales to service).

Identify the 3-5 types of people who are likely to be interested in your products or services and complete a recipe card for each persona.

- Speak to internal stakeholders, sales reps, and customer-facing employees to determine major kinds of customers.
- Segment major groups of customers by needs or motivations.
- Research your personas by interviewing current customers and prospects. Look at website analytics and social media
- Brainstorm with your team to determine the persona’s common pain points and questions.

Add a new persona. In your HubSpot Dashboard, create a new persona and fill the required fields with your ingredients.

Add the persona form field to all of your landing page forms to start collecting persona data about your prospects.

• Pro Tip: Change the label on the field to say something like, “Please describe your role:” instead of “Persona”.
• NOTE: HubSpot will automatically create Smart Lists for each persona and lifecycle stage so you can segment appropriately.
